the first thing i would try is to put a [pix_info] after the [pix_image]
and see what it tells you.

there only *must* be a single file: the implementation-file (the
header-files are kept separate for good style :-)

imageMAGICK/ is somewhat special as it allows to be compiled with two
different backends (Magick++ and MagickCore).

the file-layout most likely would look like:
imageAV/
        imageAV.h
        imageAV.mm

(.mm is the extension for ObjC++)
