this has been tested on 2 different linux (ubuntu 14.04) computers, 1 using an intel HD 4000 GPU, the other a NVIDIA GeForce9650GT.

to reproduce:

 - open `[pix_multitexture]` help file
 - create the Gem rendering window
 - check that some images are loaded
 - Then delete pix_multitexture.
 - -> *pd **crashes** with a coredump*
