problem getting audio into pd - win2k

pd -listdev tells me :
audio input device #3 c-media wave device
audio input device #4 kX Wave .... 0/1

now i want to play the input of c-media wave device into a pd adc~ object,
so i load pd with -audiodev "3,4", but adc~ 1 2 or adc~ 3 4 plays me
nothing.

but i do get the following error in the cmd window -
separate audio device choice not supported. using sequential devices.
