yea!

...now I can get down to the REAL stuff! My method for getting it to
work requires a bit of a run-a-round, and I'm gonna look into this a
bit more, cuz I'm sure there's an easier way to do it, but here it is
in a nutshell:

All the problems I was having seemed to stem from my attempt to build
a dynamic library, using the library template in project builder...I
then recalled that one of my older projects had been a mod for Quake
2, and that it was a bundle that was basically used like a shared
library, so I made another target similar to the quake2 mod, but
retaining the pd/gem-specific things...At first, this didn't work
either, but then I looked into the bundle "package" and withdrew the
actual library, renamed it Gem.pd_darwin, and then used it to replace
the bundle "package" that it was in...I then used "run executable"
(previously set up to start pd -lib GEM -verbose), and the whole
thing loaded just fine...

...of course, as soon as I tried to open a patch, the whole thing
crashed, but it reported what happened very nicely with GDB...anyway,
the crash was expected, so now I can start from there...

jamie
