Hello,

PD and IEM !

Since we are just setting up a new doku system for the IEM an as part
the pd projects on the IEM and all project in relation to this, we can
propose/offer following services for the pd community

The main site is based on the free content management system Zope (see
http://zope.org) on which we set up a CMF (Content management
framework) site where people can freely updload edit, comment, etc. ,
handle the mailing list (also in python) and doing documentation
(having ther web (Zope) Space), using the pd-external database and so
on and having a cvs interface for the cvs server.

But, because a docu-site is as good as the management of this, there
is the need of installing a workflow, which is adjusted on the pd
community. This means everybody can take part of a common
documentation with comments, project and cvs space and also individual
Spaces with links and so on, but some(one or preferrable more)poeple
have to do the review and publish button press work so the everything
stays trackable and organized for the main tree (individual spaces can
be organized like they want).

The administration of the site could be done by our sysops (at the
time Hannes Zmoelnig and me). The reviewing, coordinating and
management has to be done by some trusted developer/user, so partly we
can do some of this but not all.

Everyone can set up his private project space (as a site or a
link) and/or can handle a tree in the project/documentation and
developpment tree.

Since the site is fully configurable doing sectioning and delegation,
there can be different parts with different reviewers and so on....
.. also everybody can implemnt a skin (design) and poeple/groups can
open projects etc which should be related to pd or electronic music.

So we need poeple who volunteer for this jobs, a discussion about the
workflow and threads... and or if really is needed.

Start could be soon (since zope is running ...), when semester ends
(end of june), we have more time also for the pd stuff.

One point of all especially for external developers could be that the
site could be synched: cvs with docu and with the external database
and a kind of external name-registration for libraries could be done
to prevent name clashes and so on.

Anyway we need this on IEM for our libraries...
