[PD-dev] message-audio conversion example?

Hello,
can someone answer the following question:
Is there a real case in which a "sig~" module is needed to do a message-audio 
conversion? When I tried to find a simple example showing that message- and 
audio signals are distinguished, I found out that every audio processing 
module (e.g. "*~", "+~", "-~" ...) also accepts message signals.
