ooops!  major apology to IOhannes:  I just found out that I hadn't 
submitted most of the changes that I thought disappeared!  Guess I 
need to commit more often, or be committed!

;-)

...it would be nice to have a comment, and even nicer to have an 
openGL wrapper example...
