If you mean pix_mix then, yes, it sort of relates to pix_composite, 
only it doesn't use the alpha to blend the images.  it directly 
operates on the yuv or rgb values.  also, there is no alpha channel 
in the yuv images.

the altivec pix_add function of course only applies to OSX.

i've attached an example patch for pix_mix.  are others adding 
example patches to the CVS?
