actually it was on purpose, since the introduction of $0 handling
in send and receive I thought them to be not necessary anymore.

You are right, this is bad for backward compatibility, I can put them
in a gain and issue a warning in the setup, like
"sl, rl, are deprecated please use $0 ...

What do you think ?
