this is the behaviour for the gnu compiler
with intel's icc and with pd 0.37 devel i've managed to get both
channels working, but the signal from the second channel  (/dev/dsp2) is
being copied to the output of /dev/dsp1...

not the intended behaviour, either ... but because the different
behaviour is caused by different compilers i'm even more confused than
before ...
