Sorry for double-posting.

I don't know about Linux PPC, but on Mandrake, the urpmf command 
if useful to find the package of a missing file. For example, on my 
system:

$ urpmf sys/io.h
glibc-devel:/usr/include/sys/io.h
uClibc-devel:/usr/i386-linux-uclibc/include/sys/io.h
dietlibc-devel:/usr/lib/dietlibc/include/sys/io.h

(Only the first package (glibc-devel) would be required)

Most Linux distributions now have similar commands.
