Thats strange, because I am building the pd packages for debian
with tck/tk 8.4 for ages ...

 ldd /usr/lib/pd/bin/pd-gui
        libtk8.4.so.0 => /usr/lib/libtk8.4.so.0 (0x4002b000)
        libtcl8.4.so.0 => /usr/lib/libtcl8.4.so.0 (0x40104000)
        libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x401b2000)

ii  tk8.4-dev  8.4.5-1  Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.4 - development files
