[PD-dev] accessing $0 value

hi all,

is there any way to access the $0 value from within an external? maybe
with the t_object variable of each object? if not, i would like to know,
if i'm the only one, who finds this quite handy and if it would be worth
the effort to implement it (something i would be willing to do)...
