Your bug was fixed in the current official stable version by Miller.
Your distribution ships a very old test(!) version, which introduced
this bug. Maybe you could file a bug report that they should upgrade
their pd package and either ship the lastest stable version or an
older stable version or a newer experimental version, but not ship the
old unstable and broken beta version?
