[PD-dev] Windows GUI question

i am trying to write an external to open a new window similar
to a gemwin.
i basically copied the gemwincreatent file contents to my external.
the problem is that once i opened the window it doesnt react to messages.
the windowproc only gets called when i do it manually via updatewindow 
for example. it does not react to key presses or mouse events.

what could be the problem?
i also tried to create my window with mfc but that crashes pd. when i 
debug the mfc i seems that there is no afxthread (whatever that could be).


another question: is it possible to draw directly on the patcher window?
without tcl/tk?
