hmm ... then trying to code an simd improved delay line, i came across
the same problem ... very strange ... sometimes i wasn't able to
allocate memory for 500 ms ...

my first thought was, that it's related to the overcommitment of memory,
but it isn't ...

i'm pretty clueless, what happens there, but it's definitely something
very strange ...
