Initial Comment:

At the Pd conference, we discussed the data structures
object [append] and the fact that its name conflicts
with the Max object [Append].  It was suggested that
Pd's [append] become [add] to match [set] and [get].

Then a Max-like [append] could be added to Pd to
complement [prepend].
