Summary: alternative & stackable rcfiles
Initial Comment:
this patch allows you to specify an rcfile at the
command-line; when an rcfile is specified, the default
pdsettings and .pdrc are ignored.
you can stack several rcfiles, by adding the
"-rcfile"-flag to you rcfile.
this allows to use system-wide rcfiles
caveats: it doesn't really work with the pdsettings-system

ugh... trying to get rid of the "rc" files. Need a better
mechanism for
site management (where the machine has a default setting but
users can
override it). OS dependent and ugly...
