How do you get around it?

Hans, could we not include portaudio in the new 'imports' section you  
propose, and include a patch that changes those functions' names? I  
can help with that (I think) if the idea makes sense.

But for now, I guess I just need to be able to compile ;-) , since  
I'm trying to build standalone pd apps using pd-extended...
