[PD-dev] those final steps...

		Hi folks,

to interrupt the greater building banter woes, I have a question of a more rudimentary manner.

Managed to set up my environment properly, check out all the source for
PD and the externals, installed asio and ogg but now I am little
confused as to how to simply build PD internal. The documentation
points towards building an installer. I really dont need to build an
installer right now I just want to compile. I tried simply running make
in the src directory but aload paths were not set up hence the script
bombed out early on. I didnt fancy attempting to hand craft the
makefiles since I presume this would not be necessary with what I had
read on the site.

I was hoping to build PD first before trying the externals. By the way
the documentation is very good for stepping one through the setup of
the whole business of cygwin MingW etc.. Without that level of clarity
things could get very hairy !

Aside from these initial teasing problems, would people recomment
me using Flext from the onset with external development. I know the
pros but are there any cons? Secondly when compiling with Mingw32 how
does one debug the compiled exe. What is the most convenient way to
debug external development using MingW.

And finally is it a good idea to use the SndObj libraries in conjugation with PD? Are there any drawback?

all the best

Conor
