Job opportunity at Vienna Symphonic Library

Software developer for audioworkstation

The product is a WinXP- application that enables mixing of  
audiochannels. The channels are fed into the application via an ASIO  
interface, output is also ASIO. Control Data is sent via TCP/IP. The  
major feature of the engine is a convolution based room simulator and  
a sophisticated Open GL based user interface. Other typical mixing  
tools such as equalizers, compressors, limiters,… are also included.  
The mixing engine is connected in a computer network and fed by one  
ore more sequencers.

The wanted developer is responsible for developing parts of the  
system, integrating the system, testing and maintenance as well as  
developing concepts for future improvements.
The job is performed on a freelance basis with meetings in Vienna  
about twice a month with a period of occupation of about one year.





Requirements:

-       Deep interest in developing software tools for music production

-       Musical background (musician, sound engineer, producer, etc…)

-       Sophisticated C++ knowledge

-       3 years history of professional team based software development

-       Know how about software system design and integration

-       Basic knowledge about: TCP/IP, Firewire, ASIO, VST,  
Convolution Reverb, Sound Effects

-       User experience with DAWs such as Cubase, Logic, Nuendo.
