Maybe you already did: I think, Vim is the choice of vi on almost any
modern Linux system and maybe on OS-X, too. (It's the first app I
install on the Windows systems I have to work on as well.)

My remarks assumed a version of Vim running with the GUI menus. You
normally start that with "vim -g" or "gvim".
