hmm, but how do you explain that other externals are built with -O2 as 
well? (looking at the logs, it is used by ext32, ekext, creb,...)
or is it the combination of "-g" and "-O2"?

and why do you assign it to hans?
even though the problem appears in pd-extended, it is not necessarily a 
bug therein....
