And unitedstatesians should think of all the benefits of switching to 
metric units:

   1. you are much taller in centimetres than in inches.

   2. you weigh much less in kilogrammes than in pounds.

   3. gasoline costs less per litre than per gallon.

this should be enough to convince most of them.
