afaik you can use environemen variables with pd-extended (though not  
with pd-vanilla):
%ProgramFiles%/pd/extra/pdmtl/1.browser.pd should work, and it will  
also work on non-english machines. (if i had windoze, i wouldn't have  
"C:\Program Files\" but rather "C:\Programme\")
