Summary: pulseaudio + Alsa crashes Pd 0.41.0-vanilla hard

Initial Comment:
Pd 0.41.0-vanilla on Ubuntu Intrepid, choosing the Alsa->'HDA Intel (plug-in)', where I assume HDA Intel (plug-in) refers to my Alsa Pulseaudio plugin device, crashes Pd hard. 

running under GDB gives the following output:

snd_pcm_hw_params (input): Invalid argument
input start failed
: Input/output error
pd: pcm.c:899: snd_pcm_status: Assertion `pcm && status' failed.

Message:
With Pd-vanilla 0.42-4 and Pd-extended 0.41.4, this does not seem to happen
at all.  Anyone else still have this issue?
