Message:
With Pd-extended, you need to load the 'hexloader' first, then they work.
Before trying to load those objects, try creating this first: [import
hexloader iemmatrix]. Then they should work.

IOhannes, what about reducing the use of the hexloader in iemmatrix and
zexy to the bare minimum? For example, 0x21 (!) works on all file systems,
so mtx_0x21.pd_linux could be mtx_!.pd_linux and it would work without the
hexloader.

Message:
adding things to the path won't load them at all (that's desired
behaviour)

anyhow, (most likely) your problem is the way, Pd-extended packages
iemmatirx (single object library vs single file library).
a lot of work has been done in order to allow for both packaging flavours,
but still not very satisfactory.

PS: if you are really referring to "iem_matrix" (with underscore; as your
initial title suggested (i changed it)), then you are using a version of
library that has been deprecated for about 5r years; please use
"iemmatrix".
