[PD-dev] signal nan values

pd never crashes completely, the graph crashes and the signal output
from the external is constantly nan. so there is no errors or crash
reports.

so I'm not getting any illegal memory access errors. I'll try to check
the pointer arithmetic to make sure I'm not though.
