today i installed http://autobuild.puredata.info/auto-build/latest/Pd-0.43.1-extended-debian-squeeze-i386.deb
running pd gives me:

$ /usr/bin/pd
sh: /usr/lib/pd/bin/pd-watchdog: No such file or directory
Error in startup script: couldn't read file "/usr/lib/pd/tcl//pd-gui.tcl": no such file or directory
</quote>

it seems like it should look for those files in  /usr/lib/pd-extended/

directly running 
$ /usr/lib/pd-extended/bin/pd
works
