[PD-dev] Unused variables warning

Hi,
Some of you have cleaned the warnings. Does the unused variables have a
specific purpose (sometime I use "int todo_urgent") or I can send a diff to
remove some of them ? It would be great to improve the readability of the
code and to debug.
