grand to see all those updates in the repo.

unfortunately, it seems that the following commit broke the build on OSX:

the problem seems to be that MODE_NRT is used in an un-ifdefed context,
e.g. without _POSIX_PRIORITY_SCHEDULING defined.
i guess this also breaks W32 builds (but that is not automatically
tested yet).
