[PD-dev] Pd's build date / build version

Hey all

I couldn't find any reliable way to identify a compiled Pd binary. The
only info I have is the creation date.

Wouldn't it be cool for developers if Pd would display its build date
somewhere and possible even the version (shortened commit hash)?

It happened to me that I was using an half-year old Pd version without
noticing, because the installation path was not part of the PATH
environment variable.
