I tried all recent pd's for MIDI on my RedHat5.1/OSS system:
23-4 seg faults on MIDI out, only 23-4 BUT
it seems I lost all MIDI function back at pd 23-1 !

When I diff the x_midi.c, what I see is that 22 -> 23 involved a
move from treating MIDI data as ints to treating them as floats.
Perhaps somehow this lies at the root of the in-effective midi objects
on my system. I will try to look into it more this weekend.
