Linux RPM depenancies

Hi !

Ok, I´m trying to be specific.
First of all, I am not using Redhat, so the rpm´s are not tested, and somebody else already reported the
failing dependency.

One possibility would be to force a install ( there is a command line switch for rpm
to do that).

If you try

> rpm -i --nodeps pd_0.23-5.rpm

you should be able to use pd.

If that doesn´t work, you can compile pd yourself, which is a little bit more complicated for a newbie.

But just try that now, and report any failures (or success).

Subject: Linux RPM depenancies

When I try to install pd via the .rpm file I get these failed
dependencies:

libtc8.0.so.1 is needed by pd-0.23-5
libtk8.0.so.1 is needed by pd-0.23-5

Where can I get these? How can I install them? Please be specific as
this is my first day with Linux.

any advice is appreciated.
