pd sounds great-while mouse is moving

hi,

we're trying to make pd run on a pc/redhat6.0, ISA-soundblaster64,
Alsa-driver.
it's not duplex, which would be fine, but the audio-output of pd stutters.
everything sounds fine while moving the mouse.->?
already changed the mouse-driver - no effect.

anybody experienced something similar?
