have you heard about or used the enlightenment sound demon?
its a virtual sound-device sort of program, where multiple apps can
connect and are mixed out into dev/dsp ...
its hanging out here: http://www.tux.org/~ricdude/EsounD.html
i think the only program that really supports it is mpg123 ..
still, from its principle of operation its a fairly obvious +
practical thing, especially if you ve ever worked on a mac with audio, and
of course it would be cool if it could become sort of a standard for linux
audio output?
but anyhow, would it make sense to try and make pd esd aware?
would it cohere with pd's output requirements?
