gem & video

seemingly, the good times i had with gem are more or less over, since i
changed the operating system from winNT to win95 (which i had to do to
make my grafx-card TV-out work) ....
suddenly the "capture card" (hauppauge winTV primio) won't remember the
channel settings - it seems, as if it was displaying the TV-tuner
instead of the composite-in, in fact i only get a blue screen;
the only (inacceptable) solution i have found is to start pd with the
video-patch (the pix_video will connect itself), then start the card's
capture software, which will set the card to the right input channel,
and exit the capture program again
the pix_video will keep the right channel until i dis- and reconnect the
video .. have to start over again
(at NT this problem never occured)

is there a way to set the video-channel from within pd ?
or do i have to find a way to fix the video card'S configuration
externally ?

please help

ps:: by the way, i have done a "rectangle" and a "cylinder" (mark, why
did you ever need cones and have not done cylinders at that time ?), so
if anybody needed them, i can send it
i also did an alternative pix_video that will output a texturable image
(that is :: dimensions are power of 2) by zero-padding; so you get *all*
capture information and don't have to do this extremely expensive (at
least i think so) pix_resize
