Yes, I realized this only today, and have changed the gui externals
to be compatible with the new version 

ftp'able at <ftp://xdv.org/pub/gige/ggext/ggee-0.18.tar.gz>

as always you have to compile them yourself with ./configure;make  :)
The release is not backward compatible, so it's only for the diehard.
