new release of GEM soon

Hi All,

  I am hoping to release a new version of GEM soon.  There is a nasty bug
when freeing memory...I can't believe that it has been there since the
beginning.  It could easily explain some stability issues which some people
are having.

  If you have any new features/bugs/whatever, please let me know.

  Also, to anyone who has tried to get ahold of me the past few months, I
apologize for not being more responsive.  My daughter was born Oct 31 and
she has kept me fairly busy :-)
