[PD] Multiple Channel Audio

Hi,

I am using an 8-in/8-out soundcard (SEK'D Siena) under
windows 98.
Pd identifies every stereo channel as a separate audio
device so I can define my audio I/O devices using 
-soundindev and -soundoutdev.

My question is - how could I access more than one
stereo channel from within Pd?
