[PD] .PD file format

hello

i was looking through some .pd files in a text editor and was trying to
figure out exactly what everything meant so i could write some scripts to
automate making some things.  i couldn't find documentation for it; I'm
looking primarily to see how the connect statements work.  any info
appreciated!
