 |Olaf gracefully merge our codes into an
 |official release that you can get @
 |http://www.akustische-kunst.de/puredata/index.html
 |
 |the linux version still has a problem :
 |resampling does not work,
 |you have to use 44100 Hz.

which might be a problem for lower bitrate streams?
96kbit did still work with 44.1 samplerate, but i think below that
the encoder soon requires lower samplerates as well.

 |if you're still getting crackles,
 |consider removing -rt flag for pd
 |( if your icecast server runs on the same box ).
 |
 |It can also be caused by an hardware limitation.
 |i did test it on a Celeron 800Mhz / 128MB,
 |i don't know about minimum hardware requirements.

i ve had pd and an external lame process running fine on a 400 mhz
athlon machine.

at the mom, one shoutcast~ and 1 osc~ are using up almost 50% of a 740
P3 for a 96kbit stereo stream, which actually looks quite a lot to me.

there are these switches to lame (-h,-f -- quality vs. cpu usage type
switching), are they available in libmp3lame as well somehow?
