well, the model does not (yet) work under linux again.
in the meantime you can use the windos version, which should have no
problems with loading models.
the point is (and was): the bug is somewhere deep in the td-lib code and i
haven't yet found it (it is somewhat generic)

there is an easy way to load models into openGL utilizing the
GLUT-library. i will do this as soon as i have time (3-4 weeks).
