[PD] midiInOpen driver problem

i´m using win2000 and the tascam us-428 as a sound device (= midi controller). it is no problem to use or play any midi instruments on the system.  when i run pd the following message appears: midiInOpen: there is no midi driver installed on your system. any clues???

so it is not possible to control gem objects via the controller or any sounds of pd.
