halo.

toc:
1) mysystem
2) 2*motu828
3) motu828 and asio

ad 1)
- win2k
- pd 35 test 16

ad 2)
i just tried to use 2 motu828 firewire-interfaces (with 8in/8out each)
but only managed to get output from 8 channels. not necessarily from
only one of the interfaces but for example 4out the first and 4 out
the second. i wonder if i didn't set the flags right. i've tried at
least 723 combinations. among them:

pd -inchannels 16 -outchannels 16 -soundindev 1,6 -soundoutdev 1,6 ...
..lets me use the 8 channels of the first interface

pd -inchannels 16 -outchannels 16 -soundindev 6,1 -soundoutdev 6,1 ...
..lets me use the 8 channels of the second interface

..-outchannels 8,8 ..doesn't help
..-soundoutdev 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9..neither
what should be the right combination??

pd -listdev returns the following:
audio input device #1: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 1-2
audio input device #2: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 3-4
audio input device #3: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 5-6
audio input device #4: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 7-8
audio input device #5: MOTU 828 #1: SPDIF 1-2
audio input device #6: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 1-2
audio input device #7: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 3-4
audio input device #8: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 5-6
audio input device #9: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 7-8
audio input device #10: MOTU 828 #2: SPDIF 1-2
audio output device #1: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 1-2
audio output device #2: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 3-4
audio output device #3: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 5-6
audio output device #4: MOTU 828 #1: Analog 7-8
audio output device #5: MOTU 828 #1: SPDIF 1-2
audio output device #6: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 1-2
audio output device #7: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 3-4
audio output device #8: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 5-6
audio output device #9: MOTU 828 #2: Analog 7-8
audio output device #10: MOTU 828 #2: SPDIF 1-2

then i wanted to do the whole thing with asio, as the motu828 states
to come with asio drivers. but starting pd -asio returns:

in 2 out 2 rate 44100
using default device number: 0
nchan 2, flags 3, bufs 4, framesperbuf 256
PaASIO_QueryDeviceInfo: numDrivers = 0
PaASIO_QueryDeviceInfo: numDrivers = 0

..and hangs.
am i missing something here?

gute nacht.
joreg.
