[PD] crashes on pd 17

Hi 
i have not gotten any definitive answers so i was tossing this out there
i simply cannot open any old patches with test 17
anything i have made previously will immediately crash 17
But if i create a new patch or open a pd patch from (doc)17 it works fine
pd does not do this under 16

any clues??
