sadly blender3d is dead, but you can find last copies atleast here...

can't remember if blender exported to lightwave.obj....
blender3d is free, powerfull and runs on linux/beos/win...
but i newer really used it because i didn't had the "time" to learn the
GUI...
(and i had better 3d tools, but i havent seen a better free one!)
