Hi,

at http://www.akustische-kunst.de/puredata/experimental/ one can find an
external that outputs smtp as numbers for h, m, s, & f, as symbol
(hh:mm:ss:ff) and as midi timecode (MTC). That's why it's called 'mtc'.

It should be possible to direct it using a joystick under windows: holding one
firer button down and pressing the other results in one step foreward, doing
it the other way round results in backwards transport... this was intended to
connect to my film projector but Pd seems to be too slow to check the state of
the 'fire buttons' (which actually are reed contacts in the projector) every
few ms. That's why I couldn't check the correctness of the MIDI output. Maybe
the code is usefull for someone...
