hi Jarek,

that is quite interesting:)  Is select the only object which
behaves so weird?  Does putting just '2' -> [select 1 2 3] ->
[print] in a patch cause 'nan' to be sent into a terminal window?

Cannot see any flaws in select, other than not handling mixed
types (bashing all mistyped arguments to the first one's type).
Certainly it should not corrupt floats...
