[PD] Gem and glu.h

hi all,

Being very new (<24Hrs) to linux I'm trying to get pd and Gem running on a 
Mandrake 8.2 system.

I managed to compile pd (which was pretty easy) but now I'm stuck with Gem: 
when giving the "make" command in ../src/Gnu I get the following error:

I downloaded and extracted glut-3.6 into the gem-0.87 directory.....
What should I do?
